How to Document a Concrete Driveway Pour

Concrete driveway contractors need subbase, pour, and curing documentation for warranty and disputes. Here's what to photograph on every pour.

Concrete failures — cracking, spalling, heaving — are almost always caused by subbase issues or improper placement. Documenting the subbase, placement, and curing process protects you on warranty and dispute claims. Here's what to photograph.

Before the Pour

  • Subbase condition — compacted gravel or subbase, grade, and drainage
  • Forms — properly set, staked, and at correct grade
  • Existing surface/demo — if replacing, document the tear-out and subbase

During the Pour

  • Concrete truck and ticket — mix design and delivery ticket (photo the ticket)
  • Placement and screeding
  • Finishing — broom or other texture finish being applied

After Curing

  • Completed surface — all sections showing the finished driveway
  • Joint locations — control joints cut or tooled
  • Any sealer applied — product and application
