Documentation by phase

Export Composer

The Export Composer is a dedicated flow for building print-ready sheets. You arrange one or more pages (views of your plan) on sheets with title block, scale bar, and North arrow. When you’re done, export to PDF or image. Access it from the phase dropdown (Export Composer) or via the link that takes you to the standalone Export Composer at /export.

What the Export Composer does

In the Export Composer you get:

  • Pages — Add pages; each page can show a view of your design (e.g. full plan, detail, site)
  • Sheet layout — Paper size (Letter, Legal, Tabloid, etc.), orientation, margin
  • Title block — Project name, date, client, address
  • Scale bar & North arrow — Optional on each page
  • Export — Download as PDF or image (PNG/JPEG) for permits or client handoff

How to open Export Composer

From the Designer, open the phase dropdown (top of the right panel) and choose Export Composer. You are taken to the standalone Export Composer page (/export). Your current project (or last saved state) is used as the source for the pages. You can return to the Designer to edit and come back to Export Composer to update the sheets.

Typical workflow

Finish your plan in the Designer (Survey, House Planner, Shapes, etc.). Go to Export Composer. Add a page and set the view (e.g. fit to all, or a saved view). Add title block text and optional scale bar and North arrow. Add more pages if needed (e.g. detail callouts). Export to PDF. Use that PDF for permits, printing, or sharing. See Export & Save for saving the project file (.bdf) and quick export from the Designer toolbar.
