Documentation by phase

House Planner

The House Planner phase lets you draw a floor plan with walls, doors, and windows. Walls are centerlines; you set thickness and the app draws interior/exterior edges. You can lock the building perimeter, set roof type and pitch, and add room labels.

What this phase does

Select House Planner from the phase dropdown. The right panel shows:

  • Wall tool — Draw walls by clicking corners; the app creates nodes and segments
  • Doors & windows — Place openings on wall segments; adjust width and swing
  • Lock building — Lock the perimeter so nodes/segments don’t move by accident
  • Roof — Set roof type (e.g. gable, hip), pitch, overhang, and direction
  • Rooms — Automatic room detection; optional names and types

Drawing walls

Choose the wall tool and click on the canvas to place corners. Each click creates a node and a segment to the previous node. Close the loop by clicking on the first node (or near it). Wall thickness is set in the panel; the plan shows centerlines and the app draws interior/exterior edges. You can select nodes or segments and drag to adjust, or use the divide tool to add vertices on edges.

Doors and windows

Switch to the door or window tool and click on a wall segment to place an opening. You can set width, hinge side, and swing direction in the panel. Openings snap along the segment; drag to reposition. Deleting an opening is done via the panel or context when the opening is selected.

Lock building

When the building outline is complete, use Lock all exterior (or per-building lock) so that nodes and segments on the perimeter can’t be moved. You can still add or edit doors and windows. Unlock when you need to change the footprint.

Roof settings

In the Roof section you can set type (e.g. gable, hip), pitch, overhang, and direction. These drive the plan-view roof overlay and (where supported) 3D preview. Adjust per building if you have multiple structures.
